Getting started: The Counsellor quick list

Most International students must apply directly to 91ԭƬ for admission, however, International students who are about to complete an Australian Year 12 (HSC) qualification, an International Baccalaureate (studied within Australia) or a New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 should apply online to the.If you are unsure about this process, please contact your Regional Manager.

Applications will not be processed if the following fields are incomplete:

  • student's personal email address
  • student's phone number
  • copy of photo page of passport
  • program code
  • intake date
  • campus
  • academic qualifications
  • signature from student or parent/guardian if under 18
  • Genuine Student Assessment Form if required - see step three.

Submitting documents with applications
All documents submitted to the University must either be original documents or certified copies of original documents. Agents must ensure that all documents submitted to the University are genuine.

As our representative you are able to certify documents that are to be submitted to us in support of an application. Every single page of a documentmustbe certified. Scanned digital copies of certified documents can be accepted for application purposes. Representatives are to ensure that all documents submitted are certified as follows for every page of the document:

  • sight the original copy
  • print 'This is a true copy of the original document sighted by me' on every single page
  • use the agency stamp; and
  • print their name.
  • If no stamp is available, they must record their name, contact address, telephone number, profession or occupation or organisation on every single page ensure that each page is date verified sign each page of the document.

The University must ensure that every student intending to study at 91ԭƬ is a Genuine Student (GS) as defined by Australian Immigration authorities.

Under Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF)the Department of Border Protection (DIBP)risk matrix includes country and provider categories. 91ԭƬ's admissions assessment processes reflect the DIBP matrix and as a consequence you may be asked to complete an additional SSVF GS Assessment form before your application can be finalized. The University will send you a copy of the appropriate SSVF GS form for completion by the student.

To complete the GS form, you must:

  • Conduct an interview with the prospective international student
  • The student's answers to interview questions are to be written in the notes section
  • You will need to determine in your opinion, if the answer is satisfactory and complete the Assessment Process and Risk Assessment section to determine the level of risk the applicant poses to the University on a scale from very high to very low
  • Sign and date the questionnaire where indicated
  • Retain a copy of the completed questionnaire on the applicant's record and submit a copy to us with their application

Receiving the offer
What you will receive upon assessment of an application:

  • Congratulations letter Full offerORConditional offer (see below for definition)ORa pathway Package offer
  • Orientation date advice
  • Acceptance form. This includes payment information and a request for an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE)
  • ESOS Statement
  • International Offer Pack

Additional Orientation instructions for the following programs will be provided for Sydney Graduate School of Management (SGSM) postgraduate programs, Teaching and Nursing.

Checking the offer
Please check the details on the offer and ensure they are correct, particularly the following:

  • personal details (name and date of birth)
  • program
  • campus
  • intake
  • year

Full offer:Issued to students who have met all academic and English language requirements for entry, as well as GS requirements. Upon accepting, paying fees and receiving an eCoE, students are able to commence or finalise their student visa. Students are also able to commence enrolling in their program.

Conditional offer:Issued to students who have not met all entry requirements. Students must fulfil any conditions stated in the letter of Conditional offer in order to receive a 'full' offer of admission to 91ԭƬ. Once a student has met all conditions and have submitted all required documents, they will receive a 'full' offer of admission. Please note, applicants are able to accept their offer even though they have a Conditional offer.

Package offer:Issued to students who have met all academic and English language requirements as well as GS requirements for admission to a University approved pathway program. Upon accepting, paying fees and receiving an eCoE, students are able to commence or finalise their student visa application.

An acceptance form, payment information and an eCoE request are included with each Offer of Admission letter. See full instruction on how to accept an offerhere.

All acceptance, payment and eCoE request forms are to be submittedin PDF format by emailto the International Admissions office. Pleaseindicate in the subject line of the email that you are submitting acceptance documents: Acceptance, Intake, Student Name, student number in the subject line e.g. Acceptance Semester 2 – John SMITH 17118899.

Acceptances are unable to be processed if any of the following information is omitted:

  • Department of Immigration and Boarder Protection location for visa processing
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)– indicate if student requires single or family
  • signature from student or parent/guardian if under 18 (further information on minors at the end of this page)

Payment of fees
To enable a Confirmation of Enrolment certificate to be issued, applicants are required to pay all fees as stated on their Offer of Admission letter.

Students willnotbe able to enrol in their program until all fees for the first session of study and OSHC fee for the entire duration of study have been paid.

Confirmation of Enrolment
When a student has submitted documents as evidence of meetingallthe requirements for entry accepted their offer, paid fees, and completed the eCoE request form (included in the offer pack), we will email a Confirmation of Enrolment certificate to the student within 24 hours of receiving all relevant documents. Once the eCoE is provided, the student can begin or complete the student visa application process.

We recommend that new international students live on campus for their first session. The type of accommodation students choose will depend on their budget, lifestyle and personal preferences as well as current availability.

Students will receive information outlining accommodation options when they receive an offer. Booking and payment for accommodation is arranged directly with the provider of the accommodation, not with Western Sydney International. Students may consider:

  • or homestay with an Australian family off-campus.

We offer free airport pickup to new students arriving for the first time. The service takes students from Sydney airport (Kingsford Smith International Airport) to their 91ԭƬ campus. To find out more and book pleasevisit the Airport pickup webpage.

International Orientation is a compulsory event before the teaching session starts and is specifically designed for international students. All international students are invited and must attend. The International Orientation Program will be provided to applicants with the Offer of Admission pack. You can learn more on theOrientation webpage.

Enrolment and Tutorial Registration are two important steps in getting started. We strongly recommend that students enrol prior to International Orientation Day. If students are having difficulty, they are able to seek further assistance at the enrolment session on Orientation Day.

If an applicant requires extra help due to a disability while they are studying at 91ԭƬ, please provide a brief statement outlining their needs on a separate piece of paper and attach it to the application form. We will provide the details of the 91ԭƬ Disability Services contact person to you and your applicant. Please ensure the student contacts our Disability Service to discuss their disability or chronic health condition.
